The choice of Badge style is an individual matter. The all-diamond Badge is reserved for the exclusive use of those who hold or have held the office of International President. Badges are owned by the Fraternity, and at the time of initiation each member leases her personal Badge. The Badge remains in the possession of the individual member during her lifetime, unless held by the Fraternity under its disciplinary procedures, and is buried with her or returned to International Headquarters at the time of her death. The purpose of this restriction is to protect the Badge from falling into the possession of a non-member, since the wearing of it signifies membership in Alpha Gamma Delta. If you are NOT a member please do not purchase any badges off of auction services such as eBay.- Jewel: pearl

- Purpose
-
To gain understanding that wisdom may be vouchsafed to me.

To develop and prize health and vigor of body.

To cultivate acquaintance with many whom I meet.

To cherish friendships with but a chosen few, and to study the perfecting of those friendships.

To welcome the opportunity of contributing to the world's work in the community where I am placed because of the joy of service thereby bestowed and the talent of leadership multiplied.

To honor my home, my country, my religious faith.

To hold truth inviolable, sincerity essential, and kindness invaluable.

To covet beauty in environment, manner, word and thought.

To possess high ideals and to attain somewhat unto them.

This shall be my PURPOSE, that those who know me may esteem ALPHA GAMMA DELTA for her attainments, revere her for her purposes and love her for her womanhood

Alpha Gamma Delta is a member of the National Panhellenic Conference and has been since 1909 (pretty impressive since the Fraternity was founded in 1904). Anyway the logo for the National Panhellenic Conference is:

The meaning and symbolization is from the Conference's website.
The shield is a protective influence for our entire membership.
A lamp denotes leadership, scholarship and enlightenment.
The laurel wreath signifies victory, or achievement of ideals.
While the sword piercing the wreath indicates willingness to fight for ideals, symbolizing, too, penalty of obligation; also bravery, achievement and discipline.
The mantling surrounding the shield is the protecting cloak that education gives us, and a protective influence of organization.
Thus, there in the mantle is inscribed the name of the National Panhellenic Conference.
(Adopted at the 1957 Biennial Session)
