History of the Greek System at Lambuth University
The Greek System began at Lambuth College in 1957. (Became a University in 1991.) Four Greek Life Organizations were installed that year, three sororities and one fraternity.
- Sigma Kappa- Gamma Xi chapter-became inactive in the early 1990s
- Alpha Xi Delta- Gamma Iota chapter- inactive since 1984
- Alpha Omicron Pi-Omega Omicron chapter
- Kappa Alpha Order-Gamma Omicron chapter
In 1958, another fratermity was added. Kappa Sigma's Epsilon Psi chapter. In 1969, another sorority was added Phi Mu's Kappa Nu chapter. In 1971, Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity's Tennessee Zeta chapter was added.
1988 saw the addition of Alpha Kappa Alpha's Omicron Omicron chapter. And in 1997, Alpha Gamma Delta joined the campus with Theta Pi chapter.
